the
SMTP gateway
- Implemented network and host based anti-virus and
anti-spyware
systems
- Developed proficiency with vulnerability assessment tools,
including sniffers, scanners, and
spoofers, for wired networks
- Utilized wireless assessment and monitoring tools to test
security of wireless networks
- Implemented a variety of vendor firewalls
Network Administration
- Transferred email processing from outsourced provider to
internal service using sendmail on GNU/Linux
operating system which allowed for implementation of server level virus
scanning, spam filtering, backups, data exchange, and
Sarbanes-Oxley compliant archival
- Converted normal desktop PC's to
transparently utilize GNU/Linux file servers for document storage
- Maintained a highly diverse
networked
computing environment
- Updated corporate intranet
from static
brochure style pages to dynamically generated portal pages
- Configured and maintained
Lotus Domino
server on AS/400, including regular backups, isolation of internal
and public email, web-based intranet access to Notes mail, and Notes
database access
Network and Systems Engineering
- Designed secure,
fault-tolerant,
failure resistant networks using multiple redundant servers and paths
- Developed, in cooperation
with network
engineers from Bellsouth Business and Megagate Broadband, a WAN
system to adequately serve and secure 38+ Pine Belt MHC locations
- Consolidated networks into
coherent
addressing and routing schemes across WANs
- Re-designed power plants
for server
rooms to accommodate increasing power requirements and fault
tolerance requirements, including redesigning air conditioning
- Designed and built multiple
redundant
server system for Pine Belt MHC based on virtual machines which, by
using a combination of features from VMware, Linux, Windows Server
2003, and SQL Server 2003, implemented fault tolerance, business
continuity, and disaster mitigation and recovery.
Software Development
- Wrote tracking software for
company
resource library which included web interface and cross-platform
administrative client software
- Developed web-based
submission forms
that dynamically reproduce paper forms by generating PDF output
according standard formats
- Developed a system to
securely upload
documents via web form and transfer the documents into appropriate
recipients' local folders
- Created system to translate
and
integrate ASC X12N files and acknowledgment files into a
human-readable format for error correction and audit purposes using
modifications to the Perl X12::Parser
- Developed system for
logging trouble
calls and opening work request tracking tickets which included user
and technician notification, status reports, and productivity
reporting, all of which was accessible from and integrated with the
intranet portal.
- Wrote numerous applications
for ad-hoc
reporting, temporary logging, connection of disparate services, data
conversions, and automation
General
Management and
Administration
- Supervised groups and teams
of from
two to fifteen people in high pressure environments
- Implemented
process-oriented
management practices and systems
- Developed, documented and
implemented
an integrated a system for purchasing, receiving, tracking, and
disposition of MIS assets
- Revised and redesigned
systems for
documenting and tracking MIS tasks
- Created an emergency
operations and
disaster recovery plan for Pine Belt MHC which included
communications, mobility, and provisions for maintaining emergency
client services and sustaining emergency operations personnel
- Restored operations of Pine
Belt MHC
data processing to allow billing, client services and payroll to be
run effectively after hurricane Katrina, including system recovery,
use of secondary systems in cases where primary systems were out of
commission, provisioning workstations, space, and network access for
data processing personnel, organizing damage assessment and
mitigation teams, setting up emergency IT operations center due to
damage to IT building, and serving as liaison between administration
and repair crews.
